The love of Rose--The connotation of love icons in the medieval manuscript Roman de la Rose

《玫瑰传奇》1是13世纪极具代表性的寓言爱情长诗,在流传至今的大约300份手抄本2中,描绘了大量阐释这首诗的爱情图像。这些图像不仅表现出极强的装饰美感,同时具有深刻的寓言属性,蕴含着中世纪世俗爱情观的特定取向。本文将通过爱的礼物、爱的场所以及爱的象征这三种图像类型,来分析《玫瑰传奇》中爱情图像的内涵。

Roman de 1a Rose is a representative allegorical love poem in the 13th century,and there are a lot of love icons illustrating this poem in its about 300 manuscripts that have survived.These icons not only show a strong aesthetic sense of decoration,but also have a profound allegorical attribute,which contains the specif-ic orientation of the medieval secular view of love.This paper analyzes the connotation of love icons in Roman de la Rose through three types of icons:love gift,love place and love symbol.
