The main bridge of Zigong Fushun Tuojiang River Grand Bridge of southern Sichuan intercity railway is located in the reservoir area of Huangnitan hydropower station, which is close to the power station( only about 155~262 m away from the dam). Therefore, the bridge construction may affect the safe operation of the power station.Taking this as an example, the safety assessment methods of the current situation of the power station and the influence of the bridge construction period and the operation period on the power station were introduced. The state inspection method and parameter review method were mainly used in the current situation assessment, the standard conformity inspection method was mainly used in the safety assessment in the construction period, and the dynamic analysis method and the special evaluation method were mainly used in the safety assessment in the operation period. Thus,a whole set of safety assessment methods for the impact of bridge construction on the operation of power station in the reservoir area was formed, and specific measures to reduce or eliminate safety threats were proposed. The results show that the proposed assessment method provides effective optimization suggestions for the bridge design, provides guidance for the construction and operation of the bridge and the daily management of the power station, and realizes the operation safety of the power station.
