The reason and mechanism of the Auto-polymers in butadiene plant are described. This paper introduces the design of butadiene extraction unit with acetonitrile process and the anti polymerization measures taken during the start-up of the unit. In order to ensure the long-term safe operation of the unit, the targeted anti polymerization measures are taken from the aspects of optimizing the process conditions, controlling the oxygen content of the system, optimizing the anti polymerization scheme, equipment selection, pipeline design, etc.
