中国武侠小说“南向北赵”研究的历时发展和关键问题

The Diachronic Development and Key Issues of the Study of“Xiang Kairan in South China and Zhao Huanting in North China”in Chinese Martial Arts Novels

20世纪20年代,向恺然、赵焕亭二人,一南一北,开启现代武侠小说大幕,史称"南向北赵"。长期以来,对"南向北赵"的研究均显不足。进入21世纪,向恺然生平、创作线索已基本明晰,现代性研究视野介入,研究方法趋于多元化。关于赵焕亭的研究则刚刚起步。文章在中国现代武侠小说研究的整体观照下,概括"南向北赵"的主要研究成果,有利于把握武侠小说热点展开研究,为当前的武侠小说创作、研究提供借鉴。目前,平江不肖生的基础性研究逐步完善,多集中在他的多重身份、生平经历、史料研究、现代性内涵的突破、对"江湖世界"的构建以及"南向北赵"在中国现代武侠史上的地位与贡献等热点议题。平江不肖生的代表作《江湖奇侠传》《近代侠义英雄传》《留东外史》研究较为丰富,但总体上略显杂乱、不成体系。就平江不肖生研究而言,可以从拓展现代性研究视野,建立武侠研究模型、转换研究视角等方面进行深入研究。

In the 1920s,Xiang Kairan and Zhao Huanting,one in the South and the other in the north,opened the curtain of modern martial arts novels,which was known as“Zhao from the south and Xiang from the north”.For a long time,the research is insufficient.In the 21st century,the clues of Xiang Kairan’s life and creation have been basically clear,the perspective of modernity research has been involved,and the research methods tend to be diversified.The research on Zhao Huanting is just beginning.In the paper,under the overall consideration of the study of modern Chinese martial arts novels,the main research results of“Zhao from the south and Xiang from the north”were summarized,which is conducive to grasp the focus of the study of martial arts novels and provide references for the current creation and research of martial arts novels.At present,the basic research of Xiang Kairan(pen named Pingjiang Buxiaosheng)has been gradually improved,mainly focusing on his multiple identities,life experiences,historical data research,the breakthrough of modernity connotation,the construction of“Jianghu world”and the status and contribution of“Zhao from the south and Xiang from the north”in the history of modern Chinese martial arts.The representative works of Pingjiang Buxiaosheng,such as Legend of Wandering Remarkable Swordsmen,Biography of Modern Chivalrous Heroes and Private Records of Studying in Japan,are rich in research,but on the whole,they are a little disordered and unsystematic.As far as the study of Xiang Kairan is concerned,it can be further studied from the perspectives of expanding the research field of modernity,establishing the research model of martial arts and changing the research perspective.
