1930年代“连环画”讨论再思考

摘要 20世纪30年代,“连环画”在左联的文艺大众化运动中作为问题被提出,左联认为“连环画”虽然是旧形式,但深受大众喜欢,可以用来传播新的思想意识。但这一提议并没有得到学界的完全认同,“第三种人”即认为“连环画”是低级的旧形式,不如欧化文艺高级,不具有艺术性。而左联认为“连环画”不仅可以发展为艺术,还可以成为战斗的武器。左联认为一方面要改造其思想内容,另一方面要努力在旧形式中发展出新形式。“连环画”讨论不只是一场美术运动,还涉及如何评判五四的欧化文艺、如何看待文艺大众化运动、如何选择中国文艺的发展方向等问题。 In the 1930’s,the issue of“picture-story book”was discussed in the popularization movement of literature and art started by the Chinese Leftist Writers League(CLWL).CLWL believed that although the“picture-story book”was old in form,it was deeply loved by the public and could be used to spread new ideology.However,CLWL’s proposal was not fully approved by the academic circle.“The Third Type of People”held a view that there was no artistic nature in“picture-story book”because it was a vulgar old form,not as advanced as the Europeanized literature and art.But CLWL addressed that“picture-story book”could develop into not only art,but also a combat weapon.Their opinion was that on one hand,it was necessary to reform the ideological contents of the“picture-story book”;on the other hand,efforts should be made to develop new forms from the old forms.In short,the discussion of“picture-story book”involves not only an art movement,but also issues such as how to judge the Europeanized literature and art after the May Fourth Movement,how to view the popularization movement of literature and art and how to choose the development direction of Chinese literature and art.
