Analysis of the Impact of the NCP Epidemic on China’s Steel Market and Suggestions for Response

2019年12月,中国武汉出现新冠肺炎NCP^注疫情,随后在全国开始蔓延,对各行业和国民经济发展造成了一定影响。目前,钢铁行业受疫情影响已经显现:物流不畅、钢材需求低迷、企业或项目开工复工延迟、钢材库存压力上升、原料供应不及时、资金周转压力增大和钢材价格下跌等。本文预期疫情对中国经济直接影响期约为2个月,境内外疫情对钢铁外贸影响有限,在此情形下,从钢材需求侧和供给侧,钢铁成本与价格等方面分析当前疫情对钢铁市场的影响,并提出应对建议。

Beginning in December 2019,a new NCP epidemic occurred in Wuhan,China,and then spread throughout the country,which has affected the development of various industries and the national economy to a certain extent. At present,the steel industry has been affected by the epidemic,with poor logistics,sluggish steel demand,delayed start of resumption of business or projects,rising pressure on steel stocks,untimely supply of raw materials,increasing pressure on capital turnover,and falling steel prices. This article predicts that the direct impact period of the epidemic on China ’s economy is about 2 months,and the impact of domestic and overseas epidemics on foreign trade of steel is limited. Under this situation,this article analyzes the impact of the current epidemic on the steel market from the demand and supply side of steel,the cost and price of steel,and propose countermeasures.
