中国英语学习者口语语篇组织与口语成绩的相关性分析

An Analysis of the Correlation Between Discourse Organization and Oral Performance of Chinese EFL Learners

本研究借鉴Swales的话步分析方法将语篇组织分为话步完整性、步骤切题性、步骤充分性和话语标记语四个参数,通过分析采用诱导任务方法收集的61篇中国英语学习者口语语篇,探究以上参数及测量指标与口语质量之间的关系。研究发现:第一,因果类口语语篇中的话步完整性与口语成绩显著相关,尤其是必要话步的步骤数和小句数对于口语成绩具有较大的解释力和区分力,这说明步骤切题性和步骤充分性对于口语产出质量息息相关;第二,话语标记语与口语成绩也呈显著相关,对于口语成绩具有一定的解释力和区分力;第三,从整体来看,英语专业学生所产出的说明性语篇结构上仍然比较松散,而且在论述充分性和话语标记语上仍存在一定不足。

By means of Swales’ Move Analysis,the article categorizes the discourse organization into four parameters:Move Well-formedness,Step Relevance,Step Sufficiency and Discourse Markers.Through the analysis of 61 Chinese English learners’ oral texts collected by the topic-elicited task,it measures these four parameters,and explores their correlation between them and oral performance quality.Results based on the analysis of this corpus indicate that:firstly,the move well-formedness of oral discourse structure in oral discourses is significantly correlated with oral performance,in particular,the number of steps and clauses in the necessary moves has a greater explanatory power and distinguishing power,and this result shows that step relevance and step sufficiency are closely related to the oral performance quality;secondly,discourse markers are also significantly related to oral scores,with some explanatory and discriminative power for oral scores;thirdly,there still exists inadequacy of discourse structure awareness,sufficiency and discourse markers for China’s English majors.
