The Theoretical Interpretation of Xi Jinping’s “Strategic Concentration”

党的十八大以来,习近平一直强调要保持战略定力,并就此做了一系列重要论述。"定力"是指一种坚定、稳重、执着的力量,主要指称一定主体的状态、性格、气质等。"战略定力"是指战略层面上的定力,即党和国家事业发展中的定力。保持战略定力具有重要的实践意义,它是实现大国治理的需要、追求长期目标的需要、应对国际变局的需要。保持战略定力的实践要求是多方面的,最主要地是必须坚持和发展中国特色社会主义,增强中国特色社会主义自信;必须坚持稳中求进的工作总基调,为实现党的奋斗目标不懈奋斗;必须坚持和平发展道路,在国际事务中坚定维护国家核心利益。

Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist party of China(CPC), Xi Jinping has stressed the need to maintain "Strategic Concentration" and made a series of important statements about it. "Steadfastness" refers to a firm, steady, persistent force, which mainly refers to the state, character and temperament of a subject. "Strategic concentration" refers to the focus at the strategic level, that is, the focus in the development of the cause of the CPC and the country. It is of great practical significance to maintain "Strategic Concentration", which is to realize the governance of major countries, to pursue long-term goals, and to cope with international changes. There are many practical requirements for maintaining "Strategic Concentration". The most important is that we must uphold and develop Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and enhance our confidence in it, and adhere to the general tone of the work of seeking to improve stability and make unremitting efforts to achieve the party’s goal. Meanwhile we must stick to the path of peaceful development and firmly safeguard core national interests in international affairs.
