水仙花小说中的中国文化书写

The Writing of Chinese Culture in Sui Sin Far’s Fiction

作为华裔美国文学的开创者,水仙花的生平和创作受到国内外越来越多学者的关注。近三十年来,学界对水仙花作品的发现和重新发现不断丰富和完善了对水仙花的研究。这些发现表明水仙花的作品有着广泛的主题,其中中国文化的书写尤为突出。这与水仙花的文学创作之路深受中国文化的影响密不可分。本文通过分析水仙花在小说中对中国文化元素的使用和呈现,探讨该作家是如何描述华裔的生存环境和状态,构建新的华裔形象,从而对美国主流文化意识进行驳斥,形成对美国主流文化话语的挑战。

As a pioneer of Chinese American literature,Sui Sin Far has attracted more and more scholars’attention both at home and abroad.In the past 30 years,the discovery and rediscovery of Sui Sin Far’s works have greatly enriched and improved the study of Sui Sin Far.These findings show that Sui Sin Far’s works include a wide range of themes,especially,among which the writing of Chinese culture is as a result of the strong influence of Chinese culture on her literary writing.By analyzing the use and manifestation of Chinese cultural elements in Sui Sin Far’s stories,this paper aims to explore how the author describes the living environments and state of Chinese Americans,and constructs a new image of Chinese Americans,thus denouncing American mainstream cultural consciousness and challenging American mainstream cultural discourse.
