Wang Guowei is a master of Chinese culture who knows both the East and the West in modern academic history and enjoys a good reputation at home and abroad.In the history of Chinese qu study,he is also an outstanding scholar developing a new style and creating a new form of qu study.Although he only paid attention to qu study for six years,he made great progress and brilliant achievements in the collation and research of Chinese qu study,which opened the way for the research of Chinese modern qu study with a different attitude and way from traditional Qu study.He not only has the grand and broad vision of sorting out the literature of qu study,but also has the creative consciousness and pioneer spirit of outlining the history of Chinese opera.In addition,he takes the lead in the category establishment of the qu study system and the theoretical contributions.It is no doubt that Wang Guowei is the well-deserved founder of modern qu study.
