In the late period of the 4 th century B.C.,the Delphic Amphictyony issued a set of sliver coinages by the Aeginetan standard. They have three kinds of denominations, including Stater,Drachmas and Triobol. The head and tail of the coinages have special types and legends. They were mainly circulated and used in Delphi and surrounding areas.Because of economic and political motives, the Delphic Amphictyony decided to remint the old sliver coinages into the new coinages.Economically, there is a big apousia between face value and bullion value of the old coinages,as well as the floating exchange rate between different monetary standards.Reducing the transaction cost is the main reason.Politically,it is mainly related to the fourth sacred war, aiming at restoring religion prestige.
