Bioinformatics Resources and Its Application Experience in Medical Microbiology Teaching

生物信息学是生物医学发展的强劲动力,而生物信息学资源在医学教学和研究过程中具有重要的应用价值。生物信息学资源包括生物信息学数据库和在线的或者商品化的分析工具(软件或者程序)。本文探讨了医学生物信息学的概念及其对提高医学生信息素质的意义,以及生物信息学资源在医学微生物学教学中的应用。希望说明借助生物信息学教学可以培养学生不仅对于信息有敏锐的感受力、持久的注意力和对信息价值的判断力、洞察力,而且具备确定信息需求的时机、选择信息源、高效获取信息、处理评估信息和有效利用信息的能力;同时注重知识产权的保护、医学信息使用的伦理和法律规范;最终获得终身学习的能力,在拥有更好的职业生涯的同时为人类健康事业做出更大的贡献。

Bioinformatics is a powerful engine for the development of biomedicine,and bioinformatics resources have important application value in the process of medical teaching and research.Bioinformatics resources include bioinformatics databases and online or commercialized analytical tools(software or programs).This paper discusses the significance of biomedical informatics in improving the information literacy of medical students and the application of bioinformatics resources in the teaching of medical microbiology.It is hoped that with the aid of bioinformatics students will have the ability to determine the extent of information needed,to access the needed information effectively and efficiently,to evaluate information and its sources critically,to incorporate selected information into one’s knowledge base,to use information effectively to accomplish a specific purpose,to understand the economic,legal,and social issues surrounding the use of information,and access and use information ethically and legally.Ultimately students acquire the ability of lifelong learning,and make greater contributions to the cause of human health while having a better professional career.
