Technology Empowerment:The Effect of Technological Innovation on the Integrated Development of Artificial Intelligence and Industry

摘要 人工智能技术深度融合如何赋能产业创新发展?本文综合使用大数据方法和计量方法,基于2001-2016年中国企业的全样本数据构造了人工智能与产业融合发展的度量指标,并从制造业产业层面实证检验人工智能产业融合的技术创新效应。研究发现:人工智能与制造业的融合程度在不断提升,资本技术密集型产业的人工智能融合程度高于劳动密集型产业,但人工智能与劳动密集型产业融合的增速快于资本技术密集型产业;人工智能产业融合对技术创新的促进作用不仅体现在创新数量方面,也体现在创新质量方面;人工智能技术的通用性越强,其与产业融合的技术创新效应越显著;与低技术产业相比,人工智能与高技术产业的融合具有更强的技术创新效应。 Combining the methods of big data and measurement comprehensively,based on the full sample data of Chinese enterprises from 2001 to 2016,the measurement indicator of the integration of artificial intelligence(AI)with industries was constructed,and the innovation effect of the integration was empirically tested from the industrial perspective of manufacturing.The results show that the integration degree of AI with Chinese industries is increasing,and the integration degree of AI with the capital and technology intensive industry is higher than that with the labor intensive industry,while the growth rate of integration of AI with the labor intensive industry is faster than that with the capital and technology intensive industry.The role of integration of AI with industries in promoting industrial innovation is reflected not only in the number of innovation but also in the quality.The stronger the universality of AI technology is,the more significant the innovation effect of its integration with industries becomes.Compared with low-tech industries,the integration of artificial intelligence and high-tech industries has a stronger technological innovation effect.
