曾纪泽西学强国思想经历了由浅入深的过程:军事器物层面;工商层面;政治制度层面。其思想演变的特征可以概括为:“西用”冲击了“中体”“中体”又限制了“西用”;既有其合理性的一面,也有自身的局限性。

Zeng Jize’s thought of strengthening the country with Western learning has gone from shallow to deep,that is,from military object level to industrial and commercial level,and then to political system level.The evolution characteristics of it can be summed up as“Western Technology”has impacted the“Chinese Traditional System”and“Chinese Traditional System”has restricted the“Western Technology”,which has its own limitations and rationality.
