The Cultivation of Cultural Awareness in English Teaching

语言与文化之间存在着十分密切的关联,当前高校英语教学过程中,逐渐将教学侧重点放在培养学生跨文化交际能力、英语语言表达能力中,语言的交流实质上也是文化的互动,所以培养高校学生英语文化意识十分重要。本文阐明英语文化意识内涵以及当前教学中培养的局限性,最后提出有效的培养策略,以期促进学生语言综合能力和素质提升。

There is a very close relationship between language and culture.In the current process of college English teaching,the teaching focus has gradually been placed on cultivating students’cross-cultural communicative ability and English language expression ability.Language exchange is also essentially cultural interaction.Therefore,it is important to cultivate college students’awareness of English culture.This article clarifies the connotation of English cultural consciousness and the limitations of the current teaching.Finally,it proposes effective training strategies to promote students’comprehensive language ability and quality improvement.
