Studies of Chinese Classical Literature in North America and Its Influence on Chinese Scholars

北美中国古代文学研究对国内学者有诸多影响。北美的中国古代文学研究以他者的眼光、跨文化的视角,提出的诸多问题中,其中有两个代表性问题值得关注:一是"写本研究";一是"寒山诗研究"。北美写本研究重视文本物质形态的研究,为国内敦煌写本的研究提供了新思路,北美写本研究强调"文本的流动性""作者不唯一"等观念尤其对国内学者有很大影响;而"寒山诗"由于在美国的风行,转而引发了国内学者的关注,成为一个跨文化接受与误读的研究样本。

This paper discusses the studies of Chinese classical literature in North America and its influence on Chinese scholars from two aspects.One is the studies of hand-copied books,the other is the study of Hanshan’s Poetry.The study of hand-copied books focuses on tangible forms of texts and provides new ideas for Dunhuang study,influencing Chinese scholars with its views like“fluidity of texts”and“non-unique authors”.While Han Shan’s poetry became popular in the United States,and then attracted the attention of Chinese scholars.This is a research sample for cross-cultural acceptance and misreading.
