Military Governance of Yunyang Prefecture

自明成化十二年(1476年)至清康熙十九年(1680年)的204年间,先后有121任封疆大吏莅临郧阳担任巡抚。然而,此前学界对郧阳的这段历史研究甚少,以致让这段珍贵的历史蒙上了厚厚的尘埃。本世纪初万历《郧台志》的出世,终于撩开了此段历史的神秘面纱。然而十多年来学界对郧阳巡抚治理之下的行政建制性质和名称依然众说纷纭,有人说这是一个地方政权,更多人说它是一个军政府,还有人把它称做"湖广行都司",更有人把它叫做"抚治"。实际上,郧阳当时的存在是一个相当于省级政权的"藩镇",既与唐代的藩镇有区别,又不同于明代同时期存在着的边塞九镇。正是由于过去对郧阳藩镇研究的缺位,导致了对于历史资料中所出现的"郧阳藩镇""郧镇""镇城"等字眼要么无视,要么冒猜臆断,出现称谓错乱的局面。

There have been 121 grand coordinators governing Yunyang Prefecture between 1476 and 1680,while there has been very few history records.The issuing of Yuntai Chronicles has opened the magical history of Yunyang Prefecture’s governance by grand coordinators.However,there have been many different understanding of the nature and name of Yunyang Prefecture’s organizational system.The author pointed out that Yunyang Prefecture is a military governing region same to a provincial government level,which is different from that of the Tang and Ming dynasties.
