民国时期监狱图书馆的倡办与实践

Initiation and Practice of Prison Library During the Period of the Republic of China

监狱图书馆是一种特殊类型的图书馆,是专门配合监狱教育而设立的一种文化教育设施。民国时期的监狱图书馆是以立法为先导创设的,在政府与社会互动碰撞及相关学术舆论推动和指导下发展起来的,是监狱教诲与教育的有效场所。与普通图书馆相比,监狱图书馆无论是读者、藏书、管理还是借阅条件、时间等都有其特殊性。对监狱图书馆发展历史的研究,为今天我国的文化事业特别是现代的监狱图书馆提供一定的借鉴,也是研究图书馆史的有益补充。

Prison library, a special type of library, is the cultural and educational facility especially set up for prison education. Prison library in the period of the Republic of China was estabilshed with the guidance of legislation and developed under the interaction and collision between the government and society, and became the effective place for prison education. Compared with ordinary library, prison library has its own paticularity in terms of reader, collection, management, borrowing condition and time. It provides certain reference for the development of culture especially modern libraries to study the history of prison libraries, and it would be beneficial for the research of library history.
