Composition and number variation of rodent community were investigated on the eastern edge of Kubuqi sand land in Ordos from 2010 to 2013.The results showed that rodent community was composed of seven species on the eastern edge of research area.Ratio of Cricetulus longicandatus and Meriones meridianus were higher among seven captured rodent species.Variation curve of Cricetulus longicandatus population and rodent community was similar.Variation curve of Meriones meridianus population and rodent community was similar in some years. The population of Cricetulus longicandatus and Meriones meridianus had extremely significant positive correlation with the number of rodent communities, which were dominant species and determined main characteristics of rodent community.Five pairs of rodent species had extremely significant positive correlation. The higher correlation coefficient was shown, the lower competitive relationship between rodent species would be,which indicated that there was either relatively separated or competitive resource utilization relationship among different rodent species.Annual changes of rodent communities and diversity index were similar to rodent richness index and opposite to the dominant index. The above parameters were different from the evenness index.
