Cora Run:The Enchantment of Underground Railroad

当代美国黑人作家科尔森·怀特黑德于2016年问世长篇小说《地下铁道》,借用女性科拉视角,重新书写美国黑人追求自由新历程。以科拉视角展现她与同伴的遭遇及生存困境,揭示种族主义南方奴隶社会极权之恶,展现极权社会下白人盲从与黑人规训之平庸。科拉从南方种植园一路向北,怀特黑德为她搭建一条跨越时空的隧道,用空间叙事来展现其反抗强权与苦难历史下的自我疗伤。怀特黑德同时巧搭乌托邦,为科拉搭建生命安全驿站与乌托邦精神空间,让科拉完成个体生命之魅。

Underground Railroad was published by Colson whitehead, the contemporary African-American writer in 2016. From the female Cora’s perspective, along with whitehead’ railroad and whitehead rewrote the new course of American blacks’ pursuit of freedom. Through the perspective of Cora, the author presents Cora and her companions’ difficult survival experiences, reveals the evils of totalitarianism in racist southern slave society, and shows the mediocrity of white bigotry and black discipline. Cora runs north from the southern plantation. Whitehead builds her a tunnel across time. She uses Space changes showing their resistance to power,healing themselves in bitterness. Whitehead also coincidentally creates utopia in the underground railroad,builds a safe life station and utopian spiritual space for Cora and lets Cora complete the enchantment of individual life.
