Common Mistakes in College English Textbooks and Optimization Strategies for Teaching and Textbooks——Taking Experience English 4(Integrated Course)as an Example

一本英语教材出现的错误太多,尤其是知名出版社发行的全国范围内较为通用的教材,会对英语学习者产生严重的误导性。论文以《大学体验英语4》综合教程为例,分析了英语教材中常见的十大典型错误以及这些错误对英语教学的一些启示(包括提升学生的语法能力和批判思维能力),并重点分析如何借鉴企业翻译流程来减少英语教材编写过程中出现的错误。

Mistakes in English textbooks,especially those published by well-known publishers and used widely nationwide,will seriously mislead learners.This thesis analyzes ten kinds of typical mistakes in English textbooks by taking Experience English 4(Integrated Course)as an example,to illustrate how teachers can make use of these mistakes to improve students’learning and especially how editors of English textbooks can learn from the working process adopted by translation companies to reduce the number of mistakes in English textbooks.
