Discussion and Debate on Medieval Universities and its Enlightenment

现代大学课堂教学继承了传统大学的许多因素,如课堂教学中讲读、讨论、辩论的基本方法等。但如今具体情况是讨论、辩论没有得到实质运用,且在某些方面存在形式化的倾向,讨论、辩论的原有作用没有得到充分发挥。重新梳理与研究讨论与辩论的教学方式,对于今天的课堂教学、学位授予会产生现实影响:重视讨论课、形成讨论辩论文化氛围、避免高校教育教学课堂尤其学位答辩的形式化倾向。

Classroom teaching in modern universities inherits many features of traditional universities,such as the basic methods of lecture,discussion and debate in classroom teaching.But nowadays,the specific situation is that the discussion and debate has not been employed substantively,and there is a tendency of formalization in some aspects.The original role of the discussion and debate has not been fully developed.Re-combing and researching the teaching methods of discussion and debate will have a realistic impact on today’s classroom teaching and degree granting system,that is,attaching importance to discussion class,forming a cultural atmosphere of discussion and debate,and avoiding the formalization tendency of classroom-teaching,especially,degree thesis defense.
