Understanding the People’s Essence of National Spirit--A Comparative Study on the Interpretation Paradigm of Western Heroism

在现代国家中,民族精神是本国各民族成员共享共有与共同维护的基本素质和共同智慧。探寻民族精神的真义需要历史思维和科学解释,应力戒泛化。通过审省民族精神的英雄主义解释传统,能够揭示其理解思维的西方传统,有利于反思其历史局限性和时代落后性。在此基础上,立足于马克思主义对弥赛亚意识与西方英雄主义的历史批判,既进一步厘清了民族精神的本源,又彰显人民中心是理解民族精神的核心逻辑。在当代中国的历史条件、时代背景与实践基础上,培育和践行中国伟大的民族精神必须要植根于人民本位,将国家富强、民族振兴的历史考验交汇于人民幸福的实践中,真正实现当代中国伟大民族精神的人民要义。

In a modern country,national spirit is the basic quality and common wisdom shared and maintained by all members of the nation.To explore the true meaning of national spirit needs historical thinking and scientific explanation,and we should avoid generalization.By examining the heroic interpretation tradition of the national spirit,we can reveal its western tradition of understanding and thinking,which is conducive to reflecting on its historical limitations and the backwardness of the times.Based on Marxism’s historical criticism of Messianic consciousness and western heroism,it not only clarifies the origin of the national spirit,but also shows that the people as masters is the core logic to understand the national spirit.On the basis of the historical conditions,background and practice of contemporary China,the cultivation and practice of China’s great national spirit must be rooted in the people,and the historical test of national prosperity and national rejuvenation should be integrated into the practice of people’s happiness,thus truly realizing the people’s essence of the great national spirit in contemporary China.
