The appearance of natural blue spinel and its counterfeits is almost the same,but the value is far from each other.To help consumers choose to buy and improve the level of professional identification,in this paper,gem refractometer,gem densitometer and infrared absorption spectrometer are used to detect,compare and study the natural blue spinel and the typical counterfeit products,and an accurate,simple and fast identification method is found.
