Selection of Nobel Prize Level Scientists based on Citation Analysis:An Overview of Clarivate Analytics Citation Laureates

自2002年以来,科睿唯安分析师们每年都会基于Web of Science平台上的论文和引文数据,遴选诺贝尔奖奖项所涉及的生理学或医学、物理、化学及经济领域中全球最具影响力的顶尖研究人员,授予他们"引文桂冠奖",截至2019年共有54位"引文桂冠奖"得主荣获诺贝尔奖。本文详细阐释了引文分析的理论基础与引文分布的规律,解读了"引文桂冠奖"的遴选办法及参考因素,并对336位"引文桂冠奖"得主的领域、国家、年龄及性别特征进行分析,最后针对引文分析在人才评估上的引用提出思考。

Since 2002 Clarivate Analytics has used Web of Science publication and citation data to identify researchers of"Nobel class"in the four areas of Medicine,Physics,Chemistry and Economics,and announced so-called"Citation Laureates"annually.To date,54 of our selectees,have gone on to be Nobel Laureates.This article explains the theoretical basis of citation analysis and citation distribution,interprets the method and criteria of selecting"Citation Laureate",and analyzes the research area,country,age,and gender distribution of the 336"Citation Laureate"winners.Finally,the authors share their thinking on the application of citation analysis in researcher evaluation.
