The development and the improvement in quality and efficiency of railway are the strategic approach for developing China’s low-carbon transport.The UK is a pioneer in railway development reform and low-carbon transport,and its experience is worthy to learn from.This article reviews several reforms and changes in the development of the UK railways.By combining with the development of railway,the paper analyzed the main experience and positive results from the UK’s low-carbon transport,which could be a reference for China’s railway development and green transportation construction.
