Identity Work and Politeness Evaluation

经典文献往往认为礼貌与面子工作、损益考量等密不可分,较少关注日常言语交际中经常出现的各类身份工作如何带来礼貌评价。近年来,尽管一些学者开始论及身份与礼貌的关联,但缺乏系统的考察。在剖析身份的各种意义的基础上,基于语用身份观,结合人际交往中常见的话语,展示不同类型、不同取向的身份工作所带来的礼貌评价。

Classic literature of politeness research associates politeness with face work,benefit and cost consideration,and suchlike.There is a general lack of exploration into how diverse identity work frequently observed in daily communication may contribute to politeness evaluation.Recently,although some scholars have begun to address the connection between identity and politeness,there has been little systematic investigation.On the basis of an anatomy of the nuances of identity and the adoption of the notion of pragmatic identity,what politeness evaluations identity work of various types and orientations may bring about is addressed and exemplified.
