摘要
本文基于布尔迪厄的反思性社会学理论,借鉴其关系主义方法论和社会分析模式,运用并拓展其考察知识及艺术产品生产实践的分析步骤,对理雅各和宇文所安的《诗大序》英译进行综合对比考察,通过从汉学场域到译者惯习的译者分析、从译者惯习到翻译策略的译策分析和从翻译策略到译本特点的译本分析,揭示了两种英译成功背后各种复杂因素彼此关联、互为因果的运作规律与深层逻辑,以期对中国文学与文化的国际传播有所启发。
Based on Pierre Bourdieu’s reflexive sociology,the present paper makes a comparative study of the two English translations of The Great Preface rendered respectively by the British sinologist James Legge and the American sinologist Stephen Owen.Adopting the methodological relationalism and the expanded analytic model of the Reflexive Sociology,it compares the two translators’habitus developed in specific fields,their translation strategies shaped by their habitus and the textual features of the two translations produced by using different translation strategies.It attempts to reveal the logical mechanism underlying the success of the two translations,hoping to shed fresh light on the international transmission of Chinese literature and culture.
