Hypoxia inducible factor is an oxygen dependent transcriptional activator, which plays an important role in angiogenesis, erythropoiesis, energy metabolism and cell cycle.Bone marrow is a hypoxia microenvironment, rich in growth factors and blood vessels. The hypoxia level of bone marrow can induce hypoxia signal pathway, which has a profound impact on bone development. At present,it is known that Hypoxia inducible factor can regulate a variety of protein and signal pathways in the process of bone development, and most of these protein factors and signal pathways can regulate cell differentiation, proliferation and function. This paper reviews the role and research progress of hypoxia regulatory factor pathway in bone development,so as to further explore the mechanism of Hypoxia inducible factor in bone development regulation.
