Re-understanding the CPC’s Efforts to Safeguard National Interests since the Founding of the New China

新中国成立70多年来,中国共产党始终重视维护国家利益问题,为维护国家利益进行了艰辛的实践探索。在不同的历史阶段,党分别对国家不同层次的利益需求作出了实事求是的分析与判断,并由此采取了一系列切实可行的战略、策略和举措,取得了比较理想的效果。70多年来党维护国家利益的探索实践积累了十分宝贵的经验,如必须确立明确而又长效的国家发展战略,必须着力维护国家主权和领土完整统一,必须充分调动广大人民群众在谋求国家利益实践过程中的积极性、主动性和创造性,必须高度重视军事实力在维护国家利益实践中的基础作用,必须把意识形态建设放在党的执政能力建设的层面来认识。今天,研究和探讨这一问题对如何更好地做好新时代条件下维护国家利益工作有启迪作用。

Through the 70 years since the founding of the new China,the Party has always thought much of the national interests and made painstaking efforts in safeguarding national interests.In different historical stages,the Party made realistic analysis and judgment on the national interests of different levels,and adopted a series of feasible strategies,tactics and measures,and achieved relatively ideal results.The Party’s practice in safeguarding national interests for more than 70 years has accumulated valuable experiences:for example,we must establish a clear and long-term national development strategy;we must focus on safeguarding state sovereignty and territorial integrity and unity;we must fully mobilize the enthusiasm,initiative and creativity of the broad masses in the process of seeking the national interests;we must attach great importance to the basic role of military forces in maintaining national interests;and we must deal with the ideology construction from the height of building the Party’s governance capacity.Today,the study and discussion of this issue has an enlightening effect on how to better safeguard national interests in the new era.
