As the first novel of Helena Maria Viramontes,Under the Feet of Jesus tells a story about the experience of Latino migrant workers living and working in the California grape fields from the angle of a 13-year-old Mexican American girl Estrella. In the works, three natural images such as the"fruit"represented by orange and peach, the polluted grape fields, and the stars and the moon appear frequently, which show the fierce confrontation between the uncut nature and the capitalist social production, and Estralla′s persistent pursuit to nature as a young Mexican woman in seeking her personal identity.
