传统童话《美女与野兽》中,美女为了救家人,不惜只身去野兽城堡,最后她被野兽的善良和真心所打动,最终与野兽生活在一起。安吉拉·卡特却将里面的主题进行逆转,写出父亲的拜金主义,美女也不再如传统童话对男性步步依从,与传统童话野兽变成英俊的王子不一致的是,美女在老虎舔舐下,从美女变成了老虎,将野兽变人类的故事变成女人回归野性自然的故事。卡特颠覆女性生来就是男性的奴仆这一谬论,塑造了有思想和敢爱敢恨的新女性。

In the traditional fairy tale Beauty and the Beast,the beauty went to the Beast’s Castle alone in order to save her family.She was moved by the kindness and sincerity of the beast,and eventually lived with the beast.Angela Carter subverted the theme and wrote the money worship of the beauty’s father.The beauty was no longer obedient to men like traditional fairy tales.The beast became the handsome prince,which was inconsistent with traditional fairy tale.Under the licks of the tiger,the beauty change into a tiger.The story of the beast becoming into a human turns into the story of a woman returning to the wild nature.Carter subverted the fallacy that women are born slaves to the male,and shaped a new woman who is thoughtful and dares to love and hate.
