我国高水平科技期刊封面设计的特点与思考

Characteristics and reflections on cover design of high-level scientific journals in China

【目的】研究我国科技期刊封面设计的特点,探讨科技期刊封面设计对期刊传播的积极影响,为我国科技期刊封面设计提供参考。【方法】通过网络调查及文献资料收集,调研Web of Science核心合集收录的我国科技期刊、"中国科技期刊国际影响力提升计划"资助期刊、"中国科技期刊卓越行动计划"资助期刊的封面设计情况;通过内容分析法、视觉研究方法、图像法对科技期刊封面图像进行统计和综合分析。【结果】我国高水平科技期刊中,有封面设计的期刊占比较高,说明高水平科技期刊不仅注重刊载高质量的学术内容,同时也很注重科技期刊封面的设计,利用精美设计的封面故事、封面文章促进学术内容的传播。【结论】科技期刊封面是科学创新成果展示的重要媒介,高水平科技期刊通常注重封面设计。封面设计应与它所表达的科学技术内容与价值相符,通过整合设计资源、凝练特色,进一步提高科技期刊封面设计水平,促进科技期刊的广泛传播。

[Purposes] This paper aims to study the characteristics of cover design of scientific journals in China,explore the positive influence of cover design of scientific journals on the dissemination of journals,and provide a reference for cover design of scientific journals in China.[Methods] Through online surveys and literature data collection,we investigated the cover design of selected journals indexed in Web of Science core collection and journals funded by Project for Enhancing International Impact of China STM Journals and China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan.The statistical analysis and comprehensive analysis were performed on the collected cover images of scientific journals through content analysis method,visual research method,and image method.[Findings] The proportion of high-level scientific journals in China with cover design is high,indicating that high-level scientific journals not only focus on publishing high-quality academic contents,but also pay attention to the cover design.Cover stories and cover articles can promote the dissemination of academic contents.[Conclusions] The cover of scientific journals is an important medium for the display of scientific innovation achievements.High-level scientific journals usually pay attention to cover design.The cover design should be consistent with the content and value of the science and technology.By integrating design resources and condensing features,the cover design level of scientific journals can be further improved,and the wide spread of scientific journals can be promoted.
