Upper and Lower Corners:Historical Influence of Concession on the Spatial Development between Xujiahui and Wujiaochang in Shanghai

徐家汇与五角场地区同为上海城市副中心,然而在最初演化过程中,两者逐渐演变为上海的“上只角”和“下只角”,本文将探讨公共租界这一特殊的历史因素带来的政治、经济、文化以及价值取向对城市空间结构演化的作用,归纳两者变迁与发展差异的成因。

Xujiahui and Wujiaochang are two sub centers of Shanghai.However,in the initial evolution process,they gradually become the upper and lower corners of Shanghai.This paper will discuss the role of political,economic and cultural as well as value orientation brought by the special historical factor of public concession in the evolution of urban spatial structure,and summarize the causes of their differences.
