戏曲改编电影有舞台纪录片、戏曲艺术片和戏曲改编故事片,《十五贯》与《桃花扇》是后两种体裁在十七年时期的艺术经典。《十五贯》以昆曲剧目作原本,试图以电影化手段对其进行媒介转化,尽可能保留昆曲的艺术特点;《桃花扇》则意在借用昆曲的故事和音乐元素来拍摄电影,昆曲服务于电影的审美。在当下,戏曲改编电影应抛弃将戏曲与电影美学主次二分的思维模式,而要将其视为艺术实验进行更大程度的超越与创新。

Adapted opera films include stage documentaries,opera art films,and opera-adapted feature films.Fifteen Strings of Cash and The Peach Blossom Fan are art classics of the last two genres during the seventeen-year period.The Fifteen Strings of Cash is based on Kunqu Opera repertoire,and is intended to adapt it by means of film,so as to retain the artistic characteristics of Kunqu Opera as much as possible;The Peach Blossom Fan is intended to borrow the stories and musical elements of Kunqu Opera to make films,and Kunqu Opera serving for the aesthetics of the film.At present,the thinking mode of dichotomy between opera and film aesthetics should be abandoned in the adaptation of operas to films,and an artistic experiment for greater transcendence and innovation should be considered.
