摘要
第二次世界大战期间,美国的传统汉学研究逐步转向具有区域研究特征的中国学研究领域。美国学者注重中国研究的社会科学化取向,这是深刻反思美国中国学主流研究范式的产物。侯且岸认为,评析美国中国学研究的成果时,须重视对于“跨学科”和“跨文化”两个取向的梳理和考察。“跨学科”的取向表明美国学者批判与吸收了各种社会科学的理论和方法;“跨文化”的取向说明了解中国的文化传统是深入开展中国学研究的前提条件。侯且岸对“跨学科”和“跨文化”两个取向的阐述,为国内学界树立了这方面研究的范例。
During the Second World War,the research of traditional Chinese studies in the United States gradually turned to the field of Sinology with regional characteristics.Moreover,American scholars paid attention to the social scientific orientation of Chinese studies,which was the product of deep reflection on the mainstream research paradigm of American Chinese studies.When evaluating the achievements of American Chinese studies,according to Hou Qiean,it is necessary to pay attention to combing and investigating the"cross-disciplinary and"cross-cultural"orientations.The former showed that American scholars had criticized and absorbed various theories and methods of social sciences,while the latter showed that understanding Chinese cultural tradition was the prerequisite for in-depth research of Chinese studies.His explanation of these two orientations set an example for the academic circles in China.
