The present situation of the traditional plastic pollution,the train of thought and policy of the government and the classification of biodegradable plastics were reviewed.Various types of biodegradable plastics made from different raw materials based on biomass,petrochemical monomers or waste-recycled plastics were summarized.The variety of use of biodegradable plastic and other biological methods for the disposal of plastic waste were introduced.
