The research on the inequality of wealth distribution in Capital in the Twenty-First Century is based on a wide range of financial historical data and comparative data,which undoubtedly makes positive contribution to correcting the research paradigm of mainstream economics over-reliance on model deduction.However,we should also reflect on the logical presupposition in Piketty’s data application.In terms of analysis approaches,the concepts of income,capital,economic growth rate,capital return rate and related basic principles proposed by Piketty become the"scaffolding"that determines his data application mode.In terms of value concept,the value rationality,practical rationality and instrumental rationality from Piketty provides a priori logical guidance for the data application.That is the deep reason why Piketty bypasses ownership of means of production and provides unrealistic solutions to the wealth inequality problems only in the field of distribution.Reflecting on the logical presupposition in Piketty’s data application has great importance for constructing the concept system and basic principles of socialist political economy with Chinese characteristics aiming at the people’s interests.
