From Heimatarchitektur to Design Prototypes A Review of the Practice of Architect Wang Hao in the Last Decade

文章通过回顾建筑师王灏在过去十年里的实践作品,评述其开业特征及思想。"家乡建筑学"的概念基本概括了他最初在浙东地区实践的特征,当时的民间资本、熟人圈业主、本地工匠为他提供了寻找自身实践特色的基础条件。同期,他在纸上试验并开发出了若干个建筑原型,在日后应用于一系列项目中。这条实践路线基本决定了他在这十年间的建筑作品在工业化生产专利开发、文人建筑师、地域建造策略之间摇摆。文章以批判视角回顾这条实践道路的演化过程,既发掘其成功之处,也给出质疑。

This paper reviews the practice of architect Wang Hao in the last decade and makes comments on his ideas in terms of a practitioner. "Heimatarchitektur",a notion made specifically for the subject,concludes Wang Hao’s initial practice in his hometown Ningbo.Three factors laid the foundation from which the features of his practice were developed:private capital in eastern Zhejiang,clients from his network of acquaintances,and local craftsmanship.During the same period,he experimented on several architectural prototypes on paper and later applied them to a series of practical projects.This approach of practice determines a fact that his design works inevitably sway between three aspects-patent application for industrial invention,literati-architect,and constructive strategies of regionalism.By reviewing the evolution of Wang’s practice,this pa per strives to reveal the essence of its success,as well as to provide critiques and questionings.
