裕固族“吴”姓“白”姓户族——“巴岳特”初探

“Wu”and “Bai” in Yugurs’ Surname: A Study on the Yugurs’ Clan Name Bayad

裕固族中的吴姓和部分白姓户族,自称"巴岳特(bajad),它与历史上的一个重要氏族--伯岳吾氏有密切关系。"伯岳吾氏"在裕固族当中演化成"巴岳特·塔乌",是"五个巴岳特氏族"之意,其中"塔乌"是"五"之意。裕固族中的吴姓可能取"塔乌"音译或意译;白姓则取"巴岳特"的音译,由此分化出"吴"和"白"两个户族。

The Yugurs’clan which is surnamed“Wu”and“Bai”partly claims themselves as“Bayad”,which is closely related to an important clan in history——the Bayid family.The“Bayid family”in Yugurs was evolved into“bayad tavun”,which means“five bayad tribes”,of which“Tau”means“five”.The surname“Wu”of the Yugur tribe may be taken from sound translation of“tavun”or translation of of“Tavun”;the surname Bai was taken from the sound transliteration of“Bayet”,which later was developed into the two clan of“Wu”and“Bai”.
