The pursuit of professional development by college teachers has become a trend in response to the re⁃quirements of quality improvement in higher education.The academic theory of teaching has broadened the horizons for the study of the professional development of university teachers and has important implications for their professional development.The path of professional development of teachers in higher education institutions under the academic view of teaching includes:reestablishing the academic ideology of teaching,establishing a sound system of teacher evaluation and motivation,stimulating the internal motivation of teachers to take the initiative to conduct teaching and research,and helping schools to implement the effectiveness of teacher training.
