曹禺剧作与1970年代海外保钓运动中的演剧热

Cao Yu’s Plays and the Drama Craze in the Diaoyu Islands Defending Movement in the 1970s

1970年代,以台湾地区青年学生为主的华人知识群体在海外掀起轰轰烈烈的保钓运动。在这场爱国保土的政治运动中,曹禺剧作曾与鲁迅杂文一道成为保钓知识分子,尤其是海外左翼青年宣扬反帝反殖思想和斗争精神的利器。其间,由加州大学柏克莱分校的刘大任、郭松棻、李渝等人发起成立的日出剧社,编演了《日出》《雷雨》。通过对《日出》《雷雨》原剧所展开的讨论、改编和上演,这群海外左翼青年不仅实现了以戏剧活动为保钓运动进行宣传和动员的目标,同时也借此文化实践过程阐扬并发展了自身的左翼理念,从而使这场运动成为确立自身主体的有效契机之一。

The Chinese intellectual groups,mainly the young students in Taiwan,launched a vigorous overseas campaign to defend Diaoyu Islands in the 1970s.In this patriotic political movement,Cao Yu’s plays,together with Lu Xun’s essays,became a weapon for the intellectual defending Diaoyu Islands,especially the overseas left wing youth,to propagate their anti-imperialist and anti-colonialist ideas and the spirit of struggle.In the meantime,the Sunrise Troupe,initiated by Liu Daren,Guo Songcai and Li Yu from the University of California Berkeley,produced and performed the plays of"Sunrise"and"Thunderstorm".Through the discussion,adaptation and performance of the original plays of"Sunrise"and"Thunderstorm",they not only achieved their goal of propaganda and mobilization for the Diaoyu Islands defending movement,but also expounded and developed their own left wing ideas through the process of cultural practice,so that the movement became one of the effective opportunities to establish their own main body.
