从符号学看严复译著中对偶符号的主体建构--以《天演论》为例

On the Subject Construction of Dual Signs in Yan Fu's Translation from the Perspective of Semiotics:Taking Tian Yan Lun as an Example

文章从对偶符号的形式意义、存在意义以及实用意义三层意义出发,探索了在传统文化、个体惯用思维以及特定历史环境的合力作用下的译者主体建构。认为严复译著中的对偶体现了译者的审美旨趣、思维方式以及特殊交际情感的建构,正是这种鲜明的主体性使得其译作更具特色,经久不衰。

Yan Fu"s translation is well known for its"Chinese elements"such as ancient writing and composition.However,there are few studies on the%dual&in his translation.The author found that there are many antithetical sentences in Tianyan Lun,but no obvious antithesis in the original work."Dual",as a symbol,has three meaningss:formal meaning,existential meaning and practical meaning according to Morris's semiotics.This paper started from the three meanings of dual symbols,made a deep analysis of these three meanings to explore the construction of translator's subjectivity embodied in it.The"dual"in Yan Fu's translation embodied the translator's aesthetic purport,way of thinking and the construction of special communicative feelings.It is this distinct subjectivity that makes its translation more distinctive and enduring.
