科学权威、意识形态与科学传播——基恩“边界设置”理论研究

Scientific Authority, Ideology of Science and Science Communication: Research on Gieryn’s Boundary-Work Theory

本文简要介绍并分析了托马斯·基恩的科学边界设置理论,并进一步综述了这一理论与科学权威获取以及科学传播之间的关系。托马斯·基恩的边界设置理论从建构主义的角度解释了科学的话语权威来自于科学自我进行的与其他知识类型与社会群体之间的边界设置行为,且这一行为集中体现在科学传播过程中。基恩的这一理论或为我们思考科学传播以及科学话语权威的形成提供全新的思路。

This study briefly introduced and analyzed the boundary work theory of Thomas Gieryn, and further reviewed the relationship between the authority of science and science communication under this theory. According to the boundary work theory, which is from the perspective of constructivism, the discourse authority of science is not directly from the unique features of scientific knowledge or scientific methods, but based on boundary set by scientists between science and other kinds of knowledge. And this kind of boundary setting behavior concentrates in the process of science communication. Gieryn’s theory of boundary work provide us a new perspective to consider both science communication and the formation of the discourse authority of science in the society.
