博物馆展览设计与制作布展:一体化还是强制分离?

Museum Exhibition Design and Production:Integrated or Separated

目前我国博物馆展览设计与制作布展的运作模式主要有两种——"一体化"和"强制分离":前者通过展览概念设计招标,选择一家展览设计制作机构进行深化设计(施工设计)、展品展项设计、制作和布展;后者先进行展览设计招标,选择一家展览设计机构进行展览深化设计(施工设计)和展品展项设计,然后根据深化设计方案再进行展览制作和布展的招标和实施。两者各有利弊,业界也各执一词。理想的运作模式是全过程管理下的"设计与制作布展分离",但目前尚不具备实施条件。现阶段可以推行新的"展览设计与制作布展一体化"运作模式——在"一体化"的前提下分展览设计、制作布展两个阶段操作,可以有效避免现行"一体化"和"强制分离"的弊端。

Two major modes of operation are currently used in the design and production of museum exhibition projects in China:the integrated and the separated.Under the integrated mode,the museum invites a bid for the conceptual design for its exhibition then the winning agency will perform all the design and production work for making this exhibition including the detailed design(construction design),exhibit(s)design,production and installation.Under the separated mode,the museum invites a bid for the conceptual design of its exhibition and the winning agency performs the work of detailed design(construction design)and exhibit(s)design,based on which the museum invites another bid for the production and installation of the exhibition.Each has its pros and cons and is favored by different institutions.While it is ideal that the design is separated from the production and installation,it is not feasible to realize it under the present circumstance.I therefore advocate an alternative:while keeping the integrated mode,the design work and the production and installation work should be implemented in different phases,which is likely to avoid the disadvantages of the above two modes.
