The Huntington Library is a typical private nonprofit institution,and its fundraising mechanism is representative of public welfare institutions in the United States.This paper makes a case study of Huntington Library based on a large number of interviews and annual reports.The paper analyzes fundraising strategy of the Huntington Library from endowment fund,operating income and public donations,and discusses its enlightenment to the fundraising of public libraries in China.
