Carboxylesterase 1 and Its Effects on Liver Metabolic Diseases

摘要 羧酸酯酶1(carboxylesterase 1,CES1)是丝氨酸水解酶多基因超家族的一员,在肝脏内高度表达。CES1参与了肝内许多物质代谢反应,如参与内源性物质包括胆固醇酯、甘油三酯等的水解反应,催化水解多种外源性物质诸如某些临床药物和环境毒素,并在机体的防御体系中有重要作用。近年研究提示CES1还与许多肝脏疾病相关,包括酒精性肝损伤、非酒精性肝脂肪变性及肝癌等。 Carboxylesterase 1(CES1),as one member of the multigene superfamily of serine hydrolase,is highly expressed in liver.CES1 is involved in many metabolic reactions in liver,for example,the hydrolysis of endogenous substances including cholesterol esters,triglycerides,etc.In the meanwhile,CES1 can catalyze the hydrolysis of numerous exogenous substances,such as certain clinical drugs and environmental toxins,playing an important role in the body's defense system.Recent studies suggested that CES1 was also associated with many liver diseases,including alcoholic liver damage,non-alcoholic hepatic steatosis,and liver cancer.
