Hilary Mantel’s novel Wolf Hall carries a strong new historicism color,describing not only the Royal nobility,but also the warmth and coldness of the personalities of various classes.The novel Wolf Hall is different from the single-line capitalization of history which highlights the noble image of King Henry VIII.Instead,it explores and depicts the encounters,behaviors and inner world of the characters of Cromwell,the actual planners of religious reform,reformers and conservatives in religious reform,and the marginal figures who have been suffering from hardships under the historical background of Church Reform by using the double-line writing method.It reproduces the politics and religion of England in the early 16th century,outlining a fresh historical landscape.
