Detailed Comments on Tang Poetry is one of the earliest anthologies of Tang Exam Poetry specially aimed at examinations in the Qing Dynasty.This book has special background of selection and interest—"to pave the way for those prepared for exams".The"detailed theory"in the book includes the author′s biographies,topic notes,interline comments,and overall comments after the poem.It involves the choice,understanding,evaluation,interpretation of the topic,syntax,composition,style,and aesthetics of the Tang Dynasty′s trial poems.While giving practical guidance to the candidates,it also forms its own"trial poetics"subject,which has various values and significance and has great influence on the time and future generations.
