The Endogeneity and Spillover of Modernity:A Study on the New Literature of Universities of Tianjin During the Republic of China Period

新文学运动是五四新文化运动的重要组成部分。五四运动以后,地方高校在新文学由北京向全国扩散的过程中起到了至关重要的承接作用。以天津为例,南开大学、北洋大学、天津工商学院等高校为新文学在津的创作、审美、传播、研究等各个环节提供了平台。同时,新文学的实践主体也从新文化运动时期的文史精英下移至普通知识青年群体。这一群体通过对城市日常生活、公共领域、社会情绪等投以文学关注,得以将视野延伸到象牙塔外,加入属地城市现代文化的构建进程中。

The new literature is an important part of the May Fourth Movement and New Culture Movement.After the May Fourth Movement,new literature began to spread to the whole country.Local colleges and universities played a crucial role in this process.In Tianjin,Nankai University,Peiyang University,Tientsin Kung Shang University have provided a platform for the creation,writing,dissemination,research and other links of new literature.In this process,the practice subject of new literature also moved from the literary and historical elite in the period of the New Culture Movement to the general intellectual youth group.By paying literary attention to urban daily life,public sphere and social emotions,this group could extend their vision beyond the ivory tower and joined the process of constructing the modern social culture of the city.
